London Dog Walking - Buckingham Palace

dog walking London England UK image2Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the Royal Monarch, the Queen. It dates back to Goring and Arlington House, however the structure was built on the Duke of Buckinghams House of 1703. This passed into the Royal hands of King Charles II in 1761.

It was known as the Queens house, Queen Charlotte having fourteen of her fifteen children here.

Whilst the remodelling started in 1762, it was in the 1820s when most of the work was done. It became the royal residence with the accession of Queen Victoria. Though after her retreat from public life following the death of Prince Albert, she rarely used it.

It has been the scene of celebrations such as VE day.

The queen loves dogs, whether hunting dogs or her personal preference of corgi's. King George VI brought them into the Royal Family in 1933. Queen Elisabeth II has about ten corgi's, most of them descended from Susan, who was given to her on her 18th birthday. Winning a contract to walk the corgis would be a great coup.

The 4.00pm the Queen's Life Mounted guard is inspected daily. dog walker London England UK image2 dog walking London England UK image2
