Victoria cat sitter The Victoria area is great for dog walking in London as it has many open spaces, parks, playgrounds and the River Thames.

Victoria is a great place for dog walking with some wonderful walks. The nearest ones are Buckingham Palace Gardens, Green Park and St James Park. For the fitter Victoria dog walker, there is Hyde Park and Battersea Park for the pooch.

Victoria pet sittingVictoria is a residential and commercial area of central London. The area was named after Queen Victoria and lies within the borough of Westminster. Victoria area is not well defined, but many people know it as the area around Victoria station bounded by Buckingham Palace Road, Grosvenor Gardens, Victoria Street, Vauxhall Bridge Road and Wilton Road.

In the 17th century, the area had a small brewery that was part of St James Park and which grew into the large Watney & Co Brewery who were one of the largest employers by the end of the 19th century. It closed down in 1959 and all that remains is the street named Stag Place and the Stag Pub!

The Thames is a great place to walk by and you will see many Victoria dog walkers on your way. On the other side, is the famous Battersea Dogs and Cats Home which is celebrating its 150th year anniversary.

The thoroughfare Victoria Street was built through the demolition of slums in the mid nineteenth century, as was much of the Victoria area with Victoria station being built in 1860s.


cat sitting VictoriaDo not mix up the area with Victoria Park which is a lovely park for dog walking in East London or with Victoria Embankment which also has a nice park for walking in. Victoria pet sitters are unlikely to go so far as there are great parks nearby.

Education is well served in the Victoria area with Grey Coat Hospital for Girls, Westminster City School and Westminster Public School.

A great London symbol is "Little Ben" a 7 metre Big Ben is on a traffic Island by Victoria Palace.

A lot of people will want to visit the House of Fraser store. It dates back to the 1870s and was called Army & Navy. It was open originally to high ranking members of the armed forces until 1922. Then its name changed to House of Fraser in 2005.

Many people are confused, but Westminster Cathedral is in Victoria and was built on the Tothill Fields Prison site at the start of the 19th century.
